Start with a healthy smile for a healthy life

National Dental Hygienists Week (April 11 to 17) is an annual event dedicated to heightened awareness about preventative oral health care, and to help Canadians understand the role and importance of the dental hygiene profession.

Dental Health is important to overall health, appearance and emotional well being. Parents can protect their children’s teeth by showing a positive attitude and teaching them the importance of:

  • Brushing twice a day
  • Flossing once a day
  • Using fluorides
  • Choosing healthy snacking habits and eating nutritious meals
  • Wearing mouthguards for sports
  • Staying tobacco free
  • Having a dental check-up once a year

 

By following these simple guidelines, parents can help their children face the future with a bright and healthy smile.
